English Study of Feminism

Just about a year ago, I decided to take a course which focused on criticisms and theories. The course focused closely on The Great Gatsby and I focused closely on Feminist Criticism within The Great Gatsby.

Through the course I learned that Feminist Criticism examines the ways in which literature reinforces or undermines the economic, political, social, and psychological oppression of women.

While I don't necessarily enjoy reading, I was introduced to the idea of deep research with a purpose. I learned of the process of breaking every word apart to understand its real meaning and the art of critical analyzation of a piece of writing.
